The Bunk Bed Debate.

Within the next few months, we will be transitioning our toddler to a big boy bed.  Which means, we need to buy another bed for our boys.  The plan is to move Kingston's current bed into Cole's room for Cole to "learn" how to sleep like a big boy; meanwhile, we will be putting bunk beds in Kingston's room.  Eventually, Cole will join Kingston in a shared room... which both seem to want already.

That being said, I don't really want to spend a ton of money on bunk beds since I realistically only see them sharing a room until Kingston is about 10 (and that may be pushing it).  So, I've been perusing Pinterest for bunk bed ideas.  We have pretty much narrowed it down to two bunks - both from Ikea - the SVARTA bunk or the KURA bunk.  I am pretty much sold on the SVARTA, the hubs the KURA.  Both are pictured above in a collage of four photos I found via Pinterest (see HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE).

The hubs likes the idea of a lower bunk for the boys... which means they could share a room sooner than later.  I like the idea of the metal bed, as it could grow with them if they chose to remain bunked through the middle school years.

So, I thought I would put it out here on the good ol' blog and see what you think.  Which one do you find to be the better of the two options?  If not an Ikea bunk, where did you find a reasonably priced bunk bed?  Any thoughts and suggestions are welcomed - just leave a comment!  Thanks, friends.

Nothing Better.

Although I do not want my boys to grow up any faster than they are, I am loving watching them interact with each other these days.  And I know it is just going to get better and better.

Kingston has to be one of the best big brothers I have ever known -- he is so kind and considerate to his little brother.  Kingston loves giving him smooches and making sure "Coley" is included in everything.  I am hoping this lasts... because soon Cole will be messing with his toys, being big brother's shadow, and doing all sorts of little brother things, I am sure of it.

Cole is the happiest little guy there is, hands down.  Full of smiles, even though he has been teething since he was 3 months old with nothing to show for it.  He is so easy going... yet he lets you know when he is frustrated or really wants something.  He is such a joy to have around and I am so happy to see him every day.

Oh, and the above photo?  It was not planned and yet it is probably one of my favorites.

Peace Jammies: Then & Now

With two boys, I am lucky to get to reuse most of Kingston's baby clothes with Cole.  These peace sign jammies are one of my favorites and I am thrilled they are fitting not-so-little baby Cole these days.  And maybe I'm still a little shocked with how big Cole has gotten in the past few months.  Kingston was walking in these jammies; Cole is crawling.  And both are more than a little handsome in them in my book.

{Brothers}

Last Friday, we had the most beautiful weather.  So we bundled up and headed to the park in the afternoon.  I snuck this photo of Kingston helping push Cole in the stroller in the parking lot.  I love how helpful Kingston is - he really is the best big brother.

Close-Ups

{Cole, 7 months.  Kingston, 3 years.}

These two finally started to feel a little better on Sunday - their colds hit them pretty strong this last week and I am thankful they are finally pulling through.  Maybe it was having some of their favorite people in town this weekend that helped.

... Two babies in a tub.

Happy pictures?  Yes and no.  Both boys are down and out with pretty strong colds right now... but seem to be semi-happy during the day.  The coughing fits for Cole and fever for Kingston only seem to happen at night/bedtime... which makes for a long, long day.  And now I seem to have a smaller version of what they have, with a pretty rough sore throat.  So, we're laying low today.  These two will probably have a couple baths throughout the day - hot steam does each of them some good (and maybe this momma too).
