But First, Vacation Photos.

It's hard to believe Summer is winding down and we're about to welcome Fall.  Not gonna lie, I'm pretty excited about that.  After all, Fall is pretty much the best season (right?!) and dare I say it... I'm looking forward to a few rainy days here or there.  I'm sure someone somewhere is cursing my name for saying such things, but it is true.  So, I think for now I'll stop while I'm ahead and share a few of our Summer vacation photos.

Earlier this month, we vacationed in Southern California on the beach in Carlsbad.  My family first started vacationing there when I was a little girl and I am very happy to have the opportunity to take my guys down to such a wonderful place.  Our major outing was a visit to Legoland California and it did not disappoint.  Let's just say, everything was awesome.

162 Days, but who is counting?

I am pretty pumped, friends.  We're heading down to Carlsbad, California again for vacation this year... one of my most favorite places to visit.  As usual, we will be staying at the Carlsbad Inn, a place I have been lucky to stay at for approximately 28 years.  Our plane tickets and rental car have been booked, so now we just sit and wait.  August cannot come soon enough.

Needed a little Summer.

Just a few reminders that summer is coming, friends.  I needed this today.  The rain and miserable weather outside makes me long for a little sunshine, water time, and pretty flowers.

According to Siri, we have 4 months, or 17 weeks, or 122.4 days, or 2,936 hours, or 176,188 minutes until Summer... but who's counting?!

California - Oh how we love you!

Our summer vacation this year took us to Southern California and we could not have been happier.  We stayed one week at my family's timeshare - a resort I have been vacationing at since I was four.  In fact, the whole time I was there I kept thinking how my almost-four-year-old was swimming in the very swimming pool where I learned how to swim.  Pretty cool.

We didn't do Disneyland or any of the major theme park; instead, we hung around the resort and enjoyed beach life.  No set wake-up times and plenty of morning walks along the beach boardwalk, hot tub/swimming pool time, and afternoons spent at the beach.  

Somehow I managed to sweet-talk the hubs into taking some family photos while we were there and I cannot wait until we get them in a week or two (the two photos in the left column are from a sneak-peek our photographer posted).  

Oh, and when we came home last weekend, Kingston asked me a few times when we were going on vacation again... so I'm thinking he enjoyed himself too.  Cole, on the other hand, was very unsure of sand (no sand ever came remotely close to his mouth) but did enjoy our room and the resort playground. 

California - we cannot wait until we see you again next summer!
